The course is designed to assist students in writing a thesis proposal. The first half of the semester examines the organization of the thesis proposal, the generic structure and the discourse functions of the main sections in the proposal. i.e. introduction, statement of problem, objective, literature review, and research method sections. The second half of the semester reviews the second draft of the student’s proposal. By the end of the course, eachstudent will have written his/her own thesis proposal that meets the requirements set by the Department.
