This course is intended to introduce the elements of doing basic research in English Language Teaching (ELT). Throughout the semester there are at least two major goals that will be covered. The first one will be to expose the students to the basic framework of research planning and preparation. The second one will be to address the students’ ideas for a research proposal that can be potentially turned into a research paper or a thesis. By the end of the course, students are expected to be familiar with the basic elements required for conducting scientific research and are able to apply their knowledge by making a research design on a topic related to ELT
