This is a project based approach course. In the first half of the semester, the topics of the project deal with all the main issues within the domain of linguistic pragmatics such as implicature, presupposition, speech acts, reference, deixis, definiteness and indefiniteness and how they are treated in the previous research works by looking into selected research articles relevant to the topics in applied linguistic perspectives. In the second half of the semester, the project focuses on the topics related to the study of interfaces between pragmatics and semantics, syntax, phonology, and other topics related to the study of pragmatic interface in discourse analysis, conversation analysis, and language acquisition.
