This course aims to provide an introduction to the different contemporary translation theorieswhich help to understand, in a non-empirical way, the practice of translation, to create awareness of the challenges raised by the translation of a varied range of texts, i.e literary, legal, newspaper texts and subtitles as well as to attain high levels of proficiency in translation practice and critical reflection.
