Biotechnology is described as the practice of using plants, animals, microorganisms, as well as biological processes to some benefit. This course provides many opportunities to talk about various aspects of biotechnology. Students will be introduced to various aspects of biotechnology related with our daily lives, such as historical background of biotechnology, cloning, recombinant DNA technology, gene therapy, stem cells, vaccine production; as well as its applications in food industry, agriculture, health, and environment.
